{"id":27,"date":"2012-02-27T22:01:55","date_gmt":"2012-02-28T03:01:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/marshasummers.com\/wordpress\/?p=27"},"modified":"2012-02-27T22:07:40","modified_gmt":"2012-02-28T03:07:40","slug":"non-disturbance-vs-peace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marshasummers.com\/wordpress\/?p=27","title":{"rendered":"Non-disturbance vs Peace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It has come up in conversation that the two words sound like the same thing, and it sure seems that way.\u00a0 What can help is finding the definitions for the words.<\/p>\n<p>The teaching speaks of wanting non-disturbance.\u00a0 We do and say things to GET non-disturbance.<\/p>\n<p>So we have from \u201cIllustrations\u201d on the web site the <a title=\"Four Dual basic Urges\" href=\"http:\/\/www.marshasummers.com\/innerman\/4dbu.htm\" target=\"_blank\">4 dual basic urges<\/a> which are stated, basically, as:<\/p>\n<p>On a Physical level to gain comfort and pleasure and escape pain or discomfort.<\/p>\n<p>On a Mental level to gain attention and escape being ignored and rejected.<\/p>\n<p>On an Emotional level to gain approval and escape disapproval.<\/p>\n<p>And sometimes called Spiritual, sometimes Transcendental and sometimes \u201curge to power\u201d, \u00a0to gain being needed or a feeling importance and escaping a feeling of inferiority or insignificance.<\/p>\n<p>In \u201c<a title=\"The Place of Language in the Teachings by Rhondell\" href=\"http:\/\/www.marshasummers.com\/innerman\/language.htm\" target=\"_blank\">The Place of Language<\/a>\u201d peace is defined as an absence of competition.\u00a0 I\u2019ve also heard it defined as \u201cnot wanting to change anything\u201d.\u00a0 So if I\u2019m peaceful it seems it is a \u201cstate of being\u201d rather than trying to GET something.<\/p>\n<p>I AM peaceful, but sometimes I go to sleep to seek non-disturbance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It has come up in conversation that the two words sound like the same thing, and it sure seems that way.\u00a0 What can help is finding the definitions for the words.
