{"id":165,"date":"2016-03-10T15:10:41","date_gmt":"2016-03-10T20:10:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/marshasummers.com\/wordpress\/?p=165"},"modified":"2016-03-10T15:10:41","modified_gmt":"2016-03-10T20:10:41","slug":"where-am-i","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marshasummers.com\/wordpress\/?p=165","title":{"rendered":"\u201cWhere Am I\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We have often heard of self-remembering and the four valid questions &#8212; \u201cWhat Am I?\u201d \u201cWhere Am I?\u201d \u201cWhat\u2019s Going On Here\u201d and \u201cWhat Can I Do?\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Great questions to experiment with.<\/p>\n<p>But there\u2019s an alternate answer to \u201cWhere am I?\u201d. We can observe where our attention is in the present moment.\u00a0\u00a0 If our attention is somewhere in the \u201cpast\u201d either in regret, \u00a0accounts receivable or self pity, then we are not in the now \u2013 the present moment.<\/p>\n<p>If our attention is in the \u201cfuture\u201d and pondering \u201cwhat if this happens\u201d or \u201cthat happens\u201d or in \u201cplanning\u201d, we are looking for comfort, pleasure, attention, approval and feeling important in the future or we are trying to plan for an escape from pain, feeling ignored or rejected, or escaping a sense of inferiority, not being needed or important. Then, again, we are not in the now \u2013 in present time if you please.\u00a0 It could be said that we\u2019re \u201cout of time\u201d.\u00a0 Can you \u201clive\u201d in the past?\u00a0 Can you \u201clive\u201d in the future?\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Nothing can be done in the past or the future \u2013 only now!<\/p>\n<p>So in answer to \u201cWhere Am I\u201d, I can say \u201cI am here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It can jog me out of my reverie or my day dreams which are all illusion and fantasy.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, I can say, \u201cHere I am \u2013 I\u2019m listening and watching.\u201d What better place to be \u2013 here \u2013 now!\u00a0 I\u2019m living this moment fully with rapt attention.\u00a0 (definition of rapt: completely fascinated by what one is seeing or hearing right now!) \u00a0I\u2019m on the job reporting to my partner within \u2013 X.\u00a0 It\u2019s an experiment worth working with today.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We have often heard of self-remembering and the four valid questions &#8212; \u201cWhat Am I?\u201d \u201cWhere Am I?\u201d \u201cWhat\u2019s Going On Here\u201d and \u201cWhat Can I Do?\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Great questions to experiment with.
